The House version of VAWA would let abusers know that their victims called for help.

This shit pisses me off. Having been through this personally it is particularly gut wrenching that these republican hatemongers think that it is okay to tell abusers that their victims have called for help. Getting out on it’s own runs the risk of explosive and potentially fatal violence.

And I am ~~sorry~~ no I’m not, but I do believe that republicans want to keep women in abusive situations because I also think that many of them are in fact abusers.

I also think that this is the reason that they want to limit/ban birth control and eliminate abortions. I do not buy this religious moral BS that streams out of their mouths. It simply is about retaining power over women.

And they admit it every time they bring up their nostalgic ideal past.

These “good ol’ days” included women being expected to stay with their abusive partners. Divorce was taboo. Teen/unmarried pregnant women were forced in to placing their children up for adoption, met with harmful dangerous back ally abortions, or forced to marry.

And the worst part about it is that much of it went ignored because it was socially unacceptable to speak of it.

Suffer in silence.

And it hasn’t gotten any better. These things STILL don’t get mentioned and we retain this ridiculously pristine romanticized past.

It would also strip out the Senate’s protections for LGBT people and undocumented immigrants.

And this! Straight white cisfemales are not the only victims of abuse, rape, or unwanted pregnancies for that matter!

These individuals should be receiving equal protections as well as equal rights.

And in speaking of documented people specifically; the fear of deportation is one of the largest factors in the under reporting of these crimes.

The simple fact of the fucking matter is that abuse is abuse; it has no bounds and it does not conveniently only effect the people that the GOP wants it to.

I am frankly sick and of this crap. It is 2012; not 1949. The GOP needs get with the times or GTFO.

It was true that I didn’t have much ambition, but there ought to be a place for people without ambition, I mean a better place than the one usually reserved. How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 6:30 a.m. by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?
